Some top down stuff (beware modem users!)

Postby sfsuphysics » May 29th, 2007, 3:21 pm

Ok so I made this uber ghetto top down camera mount... it's literally a plastic cup that fits around the barrel of my digital camera with a piece of acrylic attached to the other end, but it works great, camera lens goes under the water surface, so no turbulence nor reflections of light to worry about. Then I decided to take some pictures right before the lights went out and I'm here to share, oh yah I just randomly named them for no particular reason :D

Mike's Quad-Color Acropora

Mike's FIRE THE LASER! Acropora (btw this is under 10k lighting, no actinic either)

Mike's Ultimate Blue Tort! (not Cali, not Ora, not Oregon, Becker/Bennett/etc it's MIKE'S!)

Mike's Candlelight Acro (by way of Karl :D)

Mike's Purple Pinstripe Pimp Suit Acro

And that's it for now :)
Enjoy

Holy schiznit, you've got to post a step-by-step on how you did the lens-mount. I'm seriously down with strapping something like that to my macro. Hrmmmmmm!

Ok give me a little bit to make/document another, I currently screwed up my prototype (well one of them) because I touched the acrylic with a finger that had superglue gel on it... right in the middle *grumble*.

Anyways, I'm pretty bored today and probably tomorrow, so should have something for ya :D

Mike's Ultimate Blue Tort! (not Cali, not Ora, not Oregon, Becker/Bennett/etc it's MIKE'S!) Are you sure its not a Bob Moore blue stag? Seriously, nice pics. Between you and Sanjay with your quick DIY lenz covers, Im convinced I must build one to.

To spam or not to spam... aww hell it's my thread, I'll spam!

These are pictures I took with the version I made in the DIY section just for Sharkky... who apparently went on his own anyways! :P

These are in my sunlit frag tag (hence the algae), but very shallow, so used a super macro mode.
