I am doing this hobby on a very limited budget.. So the base rock is the most economical option for me.. After I get it all, it will be much cheaper then buying just live rock.. I am willing to wait for it to become live on it's own.. Besides, I'm just talking about base rock as the backbone and then live rock on top of that..

Yes, I noticed that I'd have a flooding problem when I was adjusting the flow of the powerheads.. I don't want to get the tank drilled or do I have the money for said drilling.. I also wouldn't know how to go about it or have the nerve to do it myself.. But I could probably rig up an overflow box.. I hadn't thought of that at the time.. Perhaps because I was writing the post at about 3:30 a.m.. :D For the water transfer I basically cut an old aquarium siphoning hose roughly in half but not exactly even.. That could be why the flow is different..

Well, I did go the the LFS and this is what I came back with..

2 gals of saltwater and 2 gals of RO water..
a 50/50 10 watt mini compact flourescent for the 7 gal

10 blue legged hermit crabs

a black sun coral (the old light I currently have made it look a little red)

another piece of live rock

I also discovered a couple feather dusters on the live rock that was in the 7 gal.. My camera didn't want to cooperate so this was the best picture I could get.. Maybe I could get a better picture if they get bigger..

Just discovered a little starfish that I think is an asterina on my black sun coral.. Not sure if it came with the live rock or with the coral itself..
