Sara, what is the ugly thing? That would totally interrupt my sleep if it was in my basement. Looks like it could go for your throat!

Top one is a hair worm, second is a Turbinara sp. (pagoda cup), third is a "porcelain crab" --not sure of the scientific name. I'll try to look it up.

Ok, I believe the "crab" is a Petrolisthes sp. (hope that helps).

How do you sleep at night?


I prefer something a bit sweeter and less intimidating (read:creepy!). That is a great shot, though! Strong work!

But, keeping with the small theme, here's a tiny baby:

That is Hippocampus erectus, maybe 2 weeks old? One of the gray ones has turned this gorgeous green with silver markings. Really quite striking.

Here is a tiger tail cowry, sorry I have not researched the latin name:
