Superman montipora placement?

Postby marillion » April 4th, 2008, 4:36 pm

Just snagged a supposed 'Superman' montipora frag from my LFS for $15. While I doubt it's the original lineage, if it's close I'd think it's a great deal. Where should it be placed to maintain the coloration? I've got it currently about 9" from the bulb of 150w 14k and 36w of PC actinic.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Peace,

Chip

Mine did well in bright light. I had 400 watters. It did okay lower in my tank too. I had it in several locations.

Great coral. You'll love it. I'd bust it up when it's big enough so that you can have it in mulitple locations.

It's a pretty fast grower once it gets started.

Mine did fine at the bottom. It doesn't seem picky about lighting.

Hello,
I have 250W SE and mine seems to do best mid way. The higher I place it the colors seem to fad and just not pop as much. I've found that with it in the middle the blue is very intense and the red is very nice and bright. Of course with everything your tanks lighting/reflectors etc might not produce the same results.
