I would go for more real estate if I had room for it personally. Say 50-100 gallon not huge but not tiny either. But again thats me, and me does not have the room. :D

100gal is out of the question, but a tank with maximum 36" length (45-50 gallons) is very doable.

Have you looked at the seamax 250? Pricey but it looks really nice.

I hope things bounce back for you and don't get you to down, your build got the bug back in me to finalize my tank and get it running. Good luck with the recovery!

if you don't persevere, then the next nano i set up after i tear this one down this month, due to moving back east, will make you look lacking in aforementioned character trait ! :P

seriously, i hope you and the tank bounce back 'a-o.k.' :D

Well, the values have settled down. I'm getting some red cyano, but the lights need changing out. I've decided to go with a JBJ 28 HQI from nanotuners, I'll get it within the next two weeks. Until then, here's a pic of my duncans spouting some new polyps for you Tom. The two large polyps are 4" across, underneath them I have 4 new little ones....Yaay!

My sons JBJ 28 HQI just started leaking and I am not sure why. Not sure if this is a known issue or not. I topped it off last saturday and by monday it was sucking air from the returns. I thought this seemed rather fast so added more water and when I went in his room to wake him up for school on saturday his carpet was wet and the return was sucking air again. I unplugged his return pumps from the rear chamber and the front chamber emptied about 1 1/2" below the end of the returns and strainer, which it shouldnt. I have no idea why but it stopped lossing water and stayed about 75% full. I think one of the seals might be leaking or something towards the top. I guess I should be working on that....

Your duncan gets some fat polyp tips. The duncan I have has smoother tentacles on each polyp, I wonder why some puff up thick like that.

Acck! Wow, let me know what you figure out, I haven't heard any issues like that with them before! My duncan looks totally different than other people's who bought parts of the same huge one that got fragged. It has those fluffy puffed out tips, while the other that a friend bought at the same time doesn't. I think it likes being buried in the sand were it can fully expand there in a lower flow/lower lighting area. It feeds quite easily too.

Allrighty, the new tank is here and I'll be starting on it shortly. The addition to my house is finished, so I've relocated into the treetops of the third floor and I'll move the tank up here in the next week or so. The new thread is here for those that are interested.
