Horrible, horrible economy to start up in. I read on a forum another etailer went down last week, marinedepot--live.

It's tough to compete against someone that doesnt make a profit on the live stuff.

Ya, MDepot must not have been making a profit on live stuff. Does anybody?

Obviously somebody does, the entire collection thru wholesale side of livestock wouldn't have lasted this long otherwise.

Oh, thought they meant internet sellers. Many of the ones I used to buy from have gone down, seems no one makes money selling on the internet, I meant. Not sure what snailman was sayin.

Was a reference to the Good Dr's. Race says he sells his livegoods at cost.

I think he once said his overhead is so high he does not profit off the selling of livestock, that is different then selling livestock for what you pay for it. I always thought their prices were o.k., but I doubt that is what they pay. Went to their swap once and the facility is a freakout and very high end.

Fish cost is just one cost re: live fish.....facility, husbandry, shipping, order taking, etc are are still factored into the over all cost of a fish.
