Haiti live rock and ricordia

Postby bobimport » April 13th, 2009, 10:42 am

After one year of working with the Haiti Government . Haiti is listed with CITES and now open for rock and ricordia. We just received our first shipment of rock last week. It should start showing up on the market soon. its been a long road. Some of the problems we encountered were

1. Minister of agriculture has a stroke and cant sign anything
2 Food riots force a change of government.
3. Parliament takes 6 mo to name a new prime minister.
4 . New ministers must be confirmed
5. 4 hurricanes strike Haiti new government not focused on rock.
6. US Fish and Wildlife their usual helpful self ( not)

But its over the rock is here and soon to follow ricordia on rock .
We are not boating this rock . it comes in fresh from the air lines at only 0.28 a lb freight. We will not sell 30 day old rock.

Hopefully they have resolved their packing issues. Nothing like a 75 pound non-wax cardboard box full of wet lettuce rock (Agaricia tenuifolia). Thanks for your persistence.

Anybody talk to Bob after the quake in Haiti?

I came here myself, to see if he'd posted.

Thoughts and prayers to all in Haiti.
