Sanjay's 500G pics

Postby RichK » August 26th, 2009, 5:49 pm

Visited Sanjay a couple weeks ago and managed to take a few pics of his 500G tank. Here is a link to the slide show. I hope you enjoy :)

Nice pictures, does Sanjay still have the "reef pillars" aquascape theme?

Thanks for the comments folks. Yes, Sanjay still has the columns. With the corals all grown in, they look much nicer. Unfortunately, I didn't get any full tank shots. We got preoccupied with other things and I forgot.

As far as gear goes, all of the pictures above were with my Nikon D3 and Nikon 105mmm micro (non VR) mounted on a Gitzo tripod with a RRS BH55 ballhead.

I remember you Ben. It's been a while. Selling any frags? I lost most of my SPS due to a heavy metal issue about a year ago. I have been slowly getting the tank back to normal and trying to get some of my old corals back from other reefers. Thank goodness Sanjay had quite a few I wanted back. Starting from frags again now. However, through all of this, my gonioporas continue to do well. GO figure. Let me know if you have anything interesting to frag.

I stopped by your house once with Sanjay, Jake and Michele :) We were on our way from a NJ event IIRC, or was it an event at The Hidden Reed?

Oh yeah! I KNEW your name sounded familiar. The big goniopora is just about 16 now. The oldest bud is 7. I just gave Sanjay a bud too. He better not kill it. Looking forward to our MACNA meet :)

Check out my build thread in the members tank specs area. I am really still growing out and do have a few gems but all small still. That goni was dripping buds off when I saw you and IIRC Sanjay was getting one then too lol. Still got xenia gone wild going on? I remember that yellow plating monti I had gotten from you, loved that thing. I got out of the hobby for about a year a few years back and sold off whatever I had at that time.
