Yes, I need to update with new pics. :P But one of my Tunze seized up on me today, and I've also been getting a little fluffy green/brown algae growth (which I'm sure will go away on its own like all the other algae phases). This Tunze-gone-bad deal is annoying. I thought I was all done with the setup.

More pics when I'm not so annoyed :P

If it makes ya feel any better one of my vortechs finally bit the dust. The wet side atleast, somehow wore though the plastic just behind the impeller shaft and the magnet started spinning on the back plastic and melted itself together. I noticed it wasnt moving and whenever I got it moving the whole wet side would spin rapidly lol. I gotta get a new wet side for that one I guess.

Roger at Tunze USA is going to replace my unit. I am surprised how quickly it failed though. I've used Vortechs for many years without a problem, and I was expecting the Tunze to be more reliable.

Thanks. Things are progressing, but I have some brown/green algae growth right now. Last month, my tank turned cloudy for a week, about the same time these new algae started to pop up. I think this was a result of my skimmer cup overflowing. I finally got rid of the cloudiness with multiple water changes, and everything is back to normal except for the new algae growth. Corals are still doing fine, though they are all pretty muted in color (pastel-like). Fish are excellent. The Anthias are all still great. I'll try to get some shots this week.

In my tank every time I do a W/C if I forget to clean the skimmer cup first it ends up dumping its load into my water. I usually forget lol.

I need more fish for my tank, it just doesn't have enough movement, I'd like a school of anthias like that but always have trouble not feeding them enough.

Sorry to resurrect this thread, but I did a search for Pseudanthias flavoguttatus and your build came up. Hope you don't mind me asking, how are the anthias now?

Basically what I'm trying to find out is how many remain, and whether agression dwindled down the numbers. Also are they agressive to any placid anthias / fish?

thanks for your input,

Hey Angie,

I'm down to one :( They school in the beginning but once they settle in, they start being aggressive towards conspecifics to the point where the smaller specimens get bullied and stop eating. They aren't aggressive to any other fish, only their own kind.
