Genicanthus personatus pair

Postby glassboxdesign » October 27th, 2009, 7:53 am

Some may have already seen this, but it seems a few don't venture over enough (cough) Len (/cough) :D

This is believed to be the only pair of G. personatus in a private collection--that of Dr. Wing Hung Chung. Dr. Chung keeps this tank at 66F and it is tied to a system for Leafy Seadragons. Additional photos, videos and information can be found here: http://glassbox-design.com/2009/catchin ... atus-pair/.

The male showing a contrasting dark color in the bottom photo. This occurs when he grows agitated and threatened, in Japan it has been referred to as the warning body color.

Cool link - thanks for sharing! That last, almost pure white, pic is amazing.

That is an amazing pair. I've never seen an agitated male before!

Man, I want this fish. I don't have the $8K budget for them though :P (nor would I want to use my chiller that much in SoCal).

Anmazing individuals and photos.
I have never seen such a dark color on body in males, and I suspect that they will change colors on moods.
