Chaetomorpha in the industry

Postby pacifica » February 5th, 2010, 7:28 pm

I am researching Chaetomorpha and I have some questions about its use in the aquarium industry that I was hoping some of you could help me with. I am a marine science student with a passion for fish tanks and I am fascinated by the current trend towards marcoalgae tanks.
1.How and when did Chaeto originate in the industry?
2. How is most of the Chaeto produced....aquaculture or wild caught?
3. What areas does it come from if wild caught?
4. Can it be or is it aquacultured on a large scale?
5. Why is it so popular?
6. Does anything actually eat it?

I may have more questions as I get answers and further my research, but I'd really appreciate any help/answers to these questions. Thank you!

Your interest sounds cool.

We are a wholesaler that does sell Chaetomorpha. It's aquacultured and comes to us ready to sell. If you want more information about this, please email John@seadwelling.com and he can give you more info.

Thanks and good luck,

Eric
