from 4 square pin to straight pin

Postby Luis » February 10th, 2010, 3:24 pm

I have a lot of female straight pin pc bulbs but my ballast has male square pin. Can I cut the ballast cable and change it from sqare pin to straight pin? how do I connect the cables? Any advise?

Thanks

No, I don't think there is any way burn the bulbs without the proper ballast, socket, and bulb.

Yes you can. Look up the wiring diagrams for either Fulham Workhorse or IceCap 660 or 430 ballasts and any of them show you how to wire either one. You could also buy adapters like in this ebay auction here, it has expired but you could contact the seller.

With PC bulbs and ballasts as long as the bulbs wattage is less then the ballast rating they will fire and run normally, they do not overdrive as the bulbs are self regulating. I use 2x32 up to 2x65w bulbs in a 2x96w ballast all the time.
