Octopus Protein Skimmer hb 100f

Postby Dashin89 » October 24th, 2010, 11:37 am

Hi everyone. I am new to reefkeeping. I have had freshwater all my life, and decided to venture into salt. I currently have a 55g with a 20 long refugium, about 40 lbs liverock, a few fish, etc... I just got the Octopus 100F hang on back protein skimmer. I CANNOT get it to work. I have searched extensively for threads relating to this topic and found some advice, all of which I have tried. I cannot get the initial siphon to engage. I have put airline tubing in and sucked out the air, no luck. I have even taken a powerhead and pumped water in, still no success. Does anyone have any advice? Please help. :?:

Have you tried contacting the manufacturer to see if they have any recommendations? I'm not familiar with that unit so I can't give you any advice :(
