Photos of fish and coral diseases

Postby ajnilsen » December 1st, 2010, 2:52 am

Hi friends,
My co-author Svein Fosså and myself are working on the second volume of "Korallenriff Aquarium" to be published in German next year (and hopefully later in English).

We have few pictures for the "parasites and diseases" chapter, and although several friend shave been most helpful gathering shots fo diseases for us, we are still looking for good shots of the following fish diseases/parasites of marine: Hold in Head disease, Cryptocaryon (micro especially, but also fish affected), Brooklynella (micro in particular), fungal disease, Amblyodinium (overview of fish heavily attacked), tapeworm in fish, flukes in fish, any coral disease (excluding RTN).

If any of you enthusiasts out ther might want to supply pics for this project, please get back to me privately.
Let me also takee the oppurtunity to sincerely thank all those aquarists who have helpeed us with this book project over the years!

best

Hello Alf,

I've been working on a disease book for a few years now. I have some images that you might find useful. In particular, I'm just finishing a research project on head and lateral line erosion, and have images from that. I don't have many protozoan disease images because we've mostly got these under control here, so finding affected fish has been problematic. I do have some metazoan infection shots, and some coral disease images.

I'm looking for a good image of a fish with Lymphocystis to illustrate and article I'm working on - if you had one, maybe we could work out a trade?

If you are interested, send me a private message and I'll get you my email address...
