Its an isopod of some sort. Possibly a cirolanid which are nasty, will attack fish and even bite aquarists!

Do a google image search for cirolanid isopod, looks very close to what you have. As for removal, baited traps over a period of time - you do not want them getting established.

It's a sphaeromatid isopod. I've had them before and they are pretty much harmless IME.

Cirolanids have 2 very distinct eyespots.
