Sold my 120; Downsizing

Postby jdubbya » June 19th, 2011, 3:51 am

After keeping my 120 fowlr up and running for close to 10 years, I made the decision to sell it. Trying to minimize a bit, lessen my "footprint" in the hobby, and overall make a little more space in my home. I'm replacing the larger tank with this 37 gallon column. It will be a bare bones set up for now, still a fowlr and house a pair of clowns, a ywg and the multicolor angel I've had for two years. No sump, no skimmer (at least for now) and just a hang on filter, heater, and two flourescent strip lights. I can upgrade things later on but I have all of this stuff already so I'm only into it for the tank and stand.I'll be getting the tank tomorrow and will use the sand, water, and some of the rock from the big tank to fill it. Hoping to have it up and running by mid week, including transfer of the stock. I'm looking forward to starting a new, smaller system.

It went well. Used sand, water and LR from 120. Transfered fish last evening and all are adjusting. Angel is picking at rocks and glass. Clowns hanging together and ywg found a spot and has begun cleaning sand out for his den. Hoping the harmony lasts but for now they seem to be enjoying their new, albeit smaller, digs! 8)
