Effective Large Scale Water Purification?

Postby Rover » April 4th, 2002, 11:53 am

What's the best way to treat the tap water in a large scale operation? With about 6,000 gallons worth of tanks my little RO unit can't quite keep up. We had an account with US Filter and they provided carbon cannisters but because the previous owners didn't pay their bills thewy won't have anything to do with me.

Any suggestions?

I would just get a larger RO, you can get units up to 450 gpd with booster pumps. I was really tempted not too long ago, a company had one of those grocery store units that does 1600 gpd, has a UV on the storage tank, and takes change or dollar bills... for $1500 (used one month, repo, only had 400 gallons on it). I couldn't find a place to put it tho. I'm using a 120gpd RO, but I only have a couple thousand gallons. I just let it run all night into a 150 gallon vat, and use that to use/sell water, and I keep a couple trashcans heated for myself that I don't sell from if I run out of water in the bigger tub.
