Damsel/mushroom or clown/mushroom tank ideas

Postby MegaDeTH » August 12th, 2011, 12:42 pm

Bug may have got me again, looking for hardware ideas for a small soft tank, shrooms maybe some trumpet coral and a couple fish, clown pair and a rose would be nice

Gotta stay small, under 40g I think, I've been out of the hobby for quite some time, looking for hardware suggestion, tank/skimmer/lights/ sand/bare not sure what is recommended anymore

Ideas?

Have you thought about an AIO? I think with staying small, and basic corals there are several all in ones that would be cool and suit your needs fine.

I've always wanted to do a tank that had a rose BTA and a pair of those nifty black and white clownfish as sole occupants :D

Hmmm....nah the 20 gallon nano I have sitting dry isn't big enough :D

Recently put up my 32x24x24 (80g I believe) tank I retro fit... so far 9 Cree LEDs is enough light to keep things happy a few inches on each side is a bit dark... mind you. So lighting should be a no brainer if you have the time to build a fixture, if you have money to spend, lots of options for commercial products prebuilt. You could go skimmerless if you stay on top of your water changes, and for something that small I'd put sand in it, but not enough to act as filtration, just for looks and giggles... plus mushrooms tend to not spread as fast on sand as they do on glass/acrylic

I am thinking along the same lines megs - the biocube should be in this week and I'm thinking a small pair of pink skunks.
