Also, I want you to know that I am not coming down on anyone or this idea. I think the whole powerbuy idea is AWESOME.
Just that it seems that most reefers do use 10000k and less and less are using 6500k.
Was making an observation is all.

The 6500K Iwasaki is probably the single most popular MH bulb on the market. Color temp as rated by the manufacturers are completely meaningless marketing BS. Most have no bearing on what the bulbs actually emit. The 6500K Iwasaki is a bulb that tends to be a yellow white with a large amount of emission in the blue spectrum. Of all the bulbs on the market the 250W and 400W Iwasaki's have the highest PAR levels in their given wattages.
Strongly suggest you read Sanjay Joshi's bulb analysis before you make such broad statements.
