how about using live phytoplankton to enrich frozen foods? do you think that does any good or is it bad for fish?

I don't soak phytoplankton but i do dose it for my corals. Fish seem to drink it for a bit until it dilutes. No clue if it's harmful but they all appear to be doing fine.

a question for all of you 'soaking' your frozen foods in vitamins

(i'm trying to find out what people observe about this procedure)

is there anyway you can tell if the foods are actually absorbing the vitamins, and if the vitamins are staying in the foods in any appreciable amounts between the 'soaking, and the fish getting to the foods?

if you think they are, won't really help my 'investigation'

i'm looking for actual evidence/proof, if you have any

fwiw: here, at the store, we feed a large variety of frozen foods, except for frozen brine-i just recently stopped that, imho, foolish practice

but silversides, ocean plankton, mysis, clam, squid, mussel, prawn (frozen) are all used here extensively, in addition to nori, fresh cloves of garlic (have a miniatus that eats the garlic, and triggers and flame angels seem to really like it  ) plus different varieties of flake

personally- with this diet- i really don't think that vitamin additives are necessary, and that those present in any higher quality flake are more than adequate for the fish's requirements
