this litte mushroom is easy to over look - it's half in/half out of the shade - we'll see which way it spreads

the green star polyps are also in the shade for now - they're just acclimating. I plan to peel them off this rock, slice them up and glue them in different places.

here's some green candy. I'm going to have to keep an eye on this one - I think the light may be a little too much for it.

I ended up dropping that candy to the bottom of the tank and into the shade. It's doing better now. I peeled and glued star polyps tonight. I also glued some Pavona to the back wall. Someone gave me a frag of merulina today - it was green so I added it to the nano. I changed the flow pattern of my SPS tank at home (the contest tank is at work) and my green Pocillipora colony started dying in the middle. So I fragged it up and added a few pieces to the back of the nano.

Eventually I'll add a fish or two. I saw a really neat green wrasse today and considered it for a moment for the nano, but I didn't know what species it was, didn't know how big it would get, I have no substrate for it to bury itself in (if it has that habit) and I have an open top tank so the wrasse stayed at the store.

That Pocillopora is between the rock and the back wall. I dropped the rest of the frags in the back of the tank. Here's a top-down shot (sorry for glare from the pendant) of the frags. You can also see the two Pavona frags that I glued to the back wall and the hammer frag on the right.

And finally some zoanthids that I took from my softie tank at home. My original colony of these zoanthids was one of my first mail-order purchases from Flying Fish Express many many years ago. They've reproduced well throughout the years. The ones in this picture are on the bottom of the tank.

That's all for now. The merulina is in the shade right now so I can't get a good picture of it. It came from a dimly lit tank, so I'm going to take my time acclimating it to the brighter light. I'll get a picture in a couple of weeks once it settles in.
