Registered participants have been enrolled in the Nano Reef Buildoff user-group and now have posting access in this forum.

Remember: Only post in your own official thread. Open discussion about ideas or specific entries should be posted in the Nano Reefs forum or the General Reef Discussion forum.

Since today is officially the first day of the contest, Reefs.org is listing the prizes we have secured thus far; More will be added as we confirm them. Note: It is the sole discretion of the Reefs.org staff how these prizes will be administered (TBD by April 30, 2005). Everything listed will go towards award(s) for the Nano Reef Buildoff.

Just a reminder.

Contest entries must be recieved by the last day of April! If you do not post initial pictures by that time, you will be removed from the contest. One month to get it all in place, set up, and ready!

Registration for the Nano Buildoff is now closed. It looks like a great turn-out!

Important Reminder:
Due to our late reminder, we are extending the first photo submission period until May 8, 2005. You must have your entry tank running and photographed by May 8. Please post your first photo submission to your respective threads. Any entry without a photo posted by May 8, 2005 will not qualify for judging.

Important Update:
Please have at least one current photo (taken between July 1 and August 30st) posted to your thread by August 30, 2005. Without this photo, you will not be qualified for judging.

I hope everyone is having success and fun with their entries! Judging by the views per thread, people are definitely having fun reading about your ideas

Just a friendly bump.... t-minus 20 days to get a mid-stage photograph posted to your thread for judging purposes. Please attempt to get an image of the entire tank, not just occupants so that we can see how your nano reef is progressing!

Also, please thank our prize donors for their generosity by visiting their websites (Don't foget to mention Reefs.Org if you speak with them!).

I wanted to take a moment to thank everyone who is participating in this buildoff! Awesome stuff. What better way to log the life of a tank than by posting to the forums for all to see. Every single tank has something about it that is unique and eye-catching.

There are only 3 months left in the contest! December 30 is the final date, so be thinking about that in the next month or two.

Hello folks. There's only about 2 weeks left, so get ready to "pretty up" your nanos and shoot your final submission photo by December 31, 2005.

I hope everyone had fun, and I hope many people learned a lot through our collective experiences. From the view counts of each thread, there's a lot of interest

Thanks to everyone who has participated and has followed this contest. If you're a contestant and haven't submitted your final photos yet, we're giving you a short extension until 1/8/06.

I know the holiday schedule was an impedance for some.

The staff is currently selecting judges to select the top five nanos for people to poll. We may have multi categories, but no promises yet

If you are not a contestant and would like to be a judge, email me.

Thanks to everyone who submitted. I know the journey was long and not everyone could keep to their original commitments; Hopefully it was a rewarding one for those who participated.

A judging panel will be selected shortly. A few more tardy submissions are still forthcoming (some contestants have emailed me for short exceptions due to extenuating circumstances). We will have the contest poll open by next week.
