New Advanced Aquarist Format

I got to say, I don't like it. Perhaps I am in the minority, but I like the old look to the magazine much better. This color scheme seems hard on my eyes compared to the warm, muted tones of the old version. Plus, you can't find anything now. You used to be able to search through the columns to find the particular article you were searching for. Now, I can't find anything.

I'm a little suprised to hear you can't find anything now because our search engine on the old site really was pretty poor. Or were you not using the search engine on our old site?

Two nights ago I also added in a dropdown search feature that allows people to select the article column or author they're looking for and they'll be show all the articles currently available. That feature is available from the Advanced Search area and on all of our Volume listings. Or are you referring to the fact that not all of our old content has been moved over to the new CMS and you can't search for that content within the new site (yet)?

re: color scheme: It's something that can be addressed. Honestly I've gotten very little feedback regarding the overall 'skin' of the site.

That is it. I can't find articles that I previously read from the older site.

I partially addressed that by placing links to each issue that wasn't yet moved over to the new CMS in the Navigation portlet. However, this really doesn't get to the root of the problem that the old content isn't indexed. A more robust solution on my end would be to link to each article and assign the appropriate metadata to each article link so that it's indexed and searched properly.

Thank you for the suggestion and I'll see what I can do to get that implemented. :)

Well then. Speaking as the guy who made the old one, I like the new one just fine :D
