Thanks Tom
Livestock is available, but not that easily obtained. It seems that the one major importer- who is my LFS, is also a major supplier of contract tanks to corporates and restaurants, and any decent corals get 'intercepted' before the general rabble gets to see them. I have also had problems with shipping stress with almost anything I have bought. Also, even by international standards, its a frighteningly expensive hobby here.
That said, I catch my own cleaner/ boxing shrimps and as many hermits as I like- all within a kilometer of my apartment, and I have access to mussel- encrusted shipping bouys that provide me with tons and tons of copepods and sally lightfoots. There are also many popular tank specimens that I can catch myself, including my current project of 2 small lionfish and our indiginous rocklobster.
This week I'm going to tell the police your back garden is full of dead nuns and I'll do it in a weird, spooky voice so they have to believe me. All that new decking will have to come up.
