Hi Andrey,

Beautiful tank you have there.

I'd like to know about the Moorish Idol. How long have you had it, where did you get it, what does it eat, how does it interact with your other fish?

Thanks!

Hi Louey, and thank you for the compliments! :D

Moorish idol my favourite fish. Lives already soon eight months.
Character at him good, with other fishes of conflicts is not present, small anxiety to him delivered Zebrasoma flavescens. Now live peacefully.
To feed I try very variously. Feeding consists of a combination of frozen foods - gamarus, mysid, artemias, bloodworms and daphnia, krill, homemade food along with nori. I make homemade foods approximately just as Bingo http://www.reefs.org/phpBB2/viewtopic.p ... 32#1173332
I want to pay attention on gamarus. Moorish idol in a nature very much likes to eat sponges, therefore in my opinion the firm food is simply necessary for correct digestion for him, gamarus appeared very much suitable forage in this sense. I give gamarus necessarily at each feeding. First time fed his twice a day, now has transferred to feeding once a day. Eat directly from hands, very contact fish. To feed his one pleasure.

Best Regards,
Andrey Ospin

My english is not very good, excuse me.

Hi, Andrey
Congratulations :P

You wrote in the article
Once per week I perform a 5 liter water change.

I wonder if this could be a typo or are you really doing so small water changes.

I think the thing I like best about the tank is the very healthy looking macro-algae. I've seen too many coral tanks that are simply "fruit stands" and lack any sort of a natural look. The macro, along with the rock set-up make the whole thing look very natural.

Congrats
