Facebook and Russia

Postby Podman » March 19th, 2018, 8:02 pm

Maybe there is some sort of angle I am not considering, but why the hell is Facebook being held responsible for Russian trolls?

If Americans are stupid enough to believe everything they read on the internet then maybe it's time for this country to collapse.

If Americans are stupid enough to input all their personal information and every detail of their lives into some on-line corporate data-base, then likewise.

What is newsworthy is the collaboration with Bannon and his band of fascists.
Their walls were made of cannon balls, their motto was ...

I get irritated watching this ****.

Trumpanzees insist that the most accurate national news comes from social media or the new WH staff, which seems similar to coming here several years ago and getting your version of current events from Njord or Mac1962.
IMO, the best way to minimize the effects of Russian meddling in our elections through the use of social media is to educate the stupid people that want tp believe everything they agree with on social media.

The press could help sound the alarm against this rampant ignorance but they are too stunned by the audacity of Trump. 24/7 all they focus on is what the porn star says or what Trump said about the guy he fired a week ago, or the drama unfolding between him and Schumer or what he said about Chelsea Clinton..

Every now and then I will catch a tv spot where a reporter interviews street walkers in arkabama or wherever and asks questions like “will you vote for Roy Moore even if he is a proven pedophile?” Or “Does it bother you that Trump grabs women by their genitals?” and when the conservative dumbass quotes scripture or says he will give him a mulligan and support him anyway the only response the press offers is one of mild amusement at how strongly 35% of the population supports Trump.

As I see it, these people are the bane of democracy. They blindly follow along in a group and refuse to think for themselves. They would rather win and **** themselves over than lose and have a better life.
They truly deserve the **** polluted world that Trump wants to hand them.. it’s too bad that a bunch of other people live here with them.

But I agree that Facebook should be held accountable for breaching contract with their users.. but expecting them to defend US elections from Russian trolls is dumb.

I suspect most FB users need to be disabused of the notion that they are FB customers. They are customers of FB like pigs are customers of Jimmy Dean.

...and all those people who are burning down their FB accounts go right on using Google, YouTube, etc. etc.
